We introduced
Hold�em Poker into the London Club Cairo on September 30th 2001.
On review at the end of the calendar year,
on December 31st 2001 we deem Hold�em to have been a successful addition to the
games,
on offer to the guests in our casino.
When it was introduced the customers appeared to be better educated in the game
than the staff.
Although it provides an alternative to the Stud Poker played alongside we have
not noticed too many players interchanging.
each prefer to stick to their own type. In general the guest feedback has been
positive.
The following
statistics speak for themselves :
In the 3 months ending December 31st Hold�em Poker had a 44.31% on a drop of
$500,000.
Within this 3 months period the % for each month reads as follows :
Oct 44.05% Nov 30.69% Dec 50.73%
There is no
doubt that the game % benefited enormously from the presence of a few high value
customers who lost. It should also be noted that the month of Ramadan fell in
the midst of Nov.
and Dec. which dramatically reduced the amount of business we had.
It is worthy
of note that the contribution of Hold�em Poker to the overall Poker figure for
the same
period was 36% of the drop and 51.4% of the win. This comes from 1 Hold�em table
against 3
(sometimes 4) Stud tables.
It also has
contributed to the doubling of the overall drop and result for all our Poker
games in
comparison with the same 3 months in 2000.
There was a
game every day with a maximum of 7 persons playing at any one time, although the
average has been between 2 and 3 during the rush hours and less than 2 outside
that.

As you are aware the game started off well. However, August is not a month to
make any comparisons
with here, we do so much of our business in August due to the influx of Italians
that "Guess the weight
of the cake" would make money here in August!
September is a much quieter month and one where our local trade returns,
therefore analysis will
be much more meaning full by the end of the trial period, though of course it is
on going.
