By the time Stephen arrived in Birmingham as a young man he was already
preparing for a career as a professional gambler. Setting out as a successful
Backgammon & Blackjack player he supplemented his income by playing Blackjack
against the House.
He was already a competent Poker player when the game of Texas Hold’em reached
the UK in the late 1980s. He quickly saw the opportunities available and set up
a private, invitation only, Poker Club in the Midlands. In 1992 by now a
professional poker player, he was good enough
to win the British no limit Hold'em Championships.
By this time he had gained a reputation, not only as a fine Poker, Blackjack and Backgammon
player, but also for giving new Animal

to players he met in the gambling community.

In the year 2000 Stephen embarked on a further career change and set up
